Game 1 of the NBA Finals

Many people were wondering before the game if Bosh would start, ‘Spo elects to keep him coming off the bench and retains Haslem and Shane Battier starting in the frontcourt. Battier was great. I feel like we could have used more Haslem late, with his grit and tough defense. I really did not like how they were pushing us around late in that game, and Haslem would not stand for that.

Battier with an early 3 pointer. + Another + Another! Then ‘Rio with another!

A couple great turnarounds from D. Wade.

An awesome pick and roll with Bosh

I would like to see LeBron drive over and over.

Battier was on fire early, what a play as he drives the lane and puts in a funky hook.

Still in the first half, LeBron  a steal and dunk in the open court!

LeBron driving the lane. That’s what I like to see.

     Bosh for 3!

     Wade hits off balance.

2nd Half

     LeBron rattles home a three.

Battier drives and draws a foul

     Chalmers blocks Ibaka!

     LeBron a nasty dunk And-1!

Great pass down low on one play to a cutting Chalmie

LeBron down low bucket with a foul

Bosh hits a jumper at the elbow.

The real story of this game though was that we settled for way too many jumpshots once again. We were great early and pretty decent late once it really got down to it. It was like once we got down to crunch time we started running plays with multiple pick and rolls, driving to the rack, stuff that really works. We could have been doing that all game.

Like I said I really didn’t like how they pushed us around. We were getting called for all these ticky tack fouls, including at least two where we literally did not touch the opposing player. We may as well have given them the hard foul. Also, it seemed our defensive rotations were a little experimental. We'll make the necessary adjustments.

Well Heaters you know what we really need is to take one of these first two in OKC and then go down to Miami and hold down homecourt three straight in a row. We need to drive to the rack from start to finish, and we can’t let them rough us up. Those were the two stories of the game for us, driving, and grit. That’s it guys. We fix those two things, play our game, and we got this. Now I’m gonna be straight up burning and wearing my sunglasses for the next 48 hours straight. We just need one of these two. This is our time. Now let’s take it.
